Dan Schürch completed an apprenticeship as a structural draughtsman, studied architecture at the ZHAW School of Engineering in Winterthur, did an internship at DRFTWD Amsterdam, worked for Meili, Peter Architekten Zurich and as a research assistant with Prof. Markus Peter and Prof. Peter Märkli in the field of construction and design at ETH Zurich. In 2007 he formed the Zürich based Duplex Architekten alongside Anne Kaestle. Dan Schürch is a member of the SIA, BSA, BDA, the Hamburg Chamber of Architects and is a regular jury member in architectural competitions. Since 2020, Dan Schürch has been a full professor at the Technical University in Braunschweig and heads the Institute of Design and Building Design. Dan Schürch is married to Simone Schürch, they have three children and live in the Zurich region.
